Dear Neighbor,
It's crunch time in the state capitol. Illinois is facing its
largest budget deficit in history amid the toughest economy since the
Great Depression. With revenue down, legislators are working around the
clock to pass a budget, but it is proving to be a real challenge.
Here is the reality -- the State of Illinois has a $12 billion
shortfall. Many worthy programs face devastating cuts or total
elimination unless the General Assembly can find ways (in the next two
weeks) to generate enough revenue to help them stay afloat.
I want to hear your thoughts on this very serious budget crisis.
Please take a moment to complete the attached survey. Your responses
will give me a better understanding of your priorities as the
legislature works to address this shortfall and keep important programs
solvent.
If you have questions about anything included in this short questionnaire, please email me at sara@staterepsara.com.
I look forward to reading your responses.
Very Truly Yours,
Sara Feigenholtz
