The Washington Kastles did something this year that no other team in WTT's 36-season history has ever done - they posted the first undefeated record in League history en route to their 2nd WTT Championship.  Their lineup was littered with post-season honors - Leander Paes - Male MVP, Arina Rodionova - Female Rookie of the Year, and Murphy Jensen - WTT Coach of the Year.  The Kastles were also recognized on court at Arthur Ashe Stadium during the 2011 US Open.  See video highlights here.  For more on the Kastles amazing season, visit www.washingtonkastles.com.

Attendance was up more than 6% this summer for WTT Pro League matches - with Sacramento and New York Sportimes leading the way with the largest increases.  One of the toughest tickets in tennis was to watch the 2011 WTT Champion Washington Kastles play in their new harbor-side venue where they sold out 5 of their 7 home matches.

WILSON:  Wilson Racquet Sports sets a Guinness World Record at 2011 US Open

Wilson 2011

Wilson players Mardy Fish and Andrea Petkovic were part of a team of 658 New York-area children and adults who broke the Guinness World Records title for "Most people bouncing tennis balls on tennis racquets in one location" at the USTA Billie Jean King Tennis Center during this year's US Open Championship.

Before the record, which was previously at 383 and set five years ago in England, was broken, Fish joked that Petkovic would do the "Petko Dance" in celebration. Petkovic didn't do her trademark as she usually does to pay tribute to her fans when she wins a match, but she did take the official Guinness World Records certificate and hoist it in the air as if she won the women's singles trophy at the US Open.

"I never did anything like this when I was a kid," Fish said. "It's nice to be out here seeing all the kids who love tennis. I'm happy to be a part of it."

Wilson Racquet Sports donated over 650+ junior tennis racquets to get kids starWilson Guinness 3ted and motivated to play the great game of tennis.

"Ups is one of the first drills you learn when you start playing tennis, so bringing  kids into tennis by setting a world record and giving them a racquet to keep playing is just awesome," said Tracy Almeda-Singian, Wilson Tour & Social Media Marketing Manager. "Hopefully the experience created some new lifetime players."
