THE FLU - Putting It Into Perspective

As we know, there is a possibility of this "new" swine influenza becoming a very serious health problem.  It appears to be spreading at a fast clip, and there are confirmed deaths associated with it.  We must realize that officials need to keep the public informed as to what is happening and what the "feared" potential might be.  The media's job is to report this.  This must be done with honesty - without sensationalism and hysteria - and the admission that "pandemics" are notorious for being almost impossible to predict.

I am not suggesting this be ignored.  I do suggest we see it in the big picture and not allow ourselves to panic and get caught up in the frenzy.  Remember, stress lowers our immune system.  There are numerous essential oils that lower stress - you may want to check these out on the website.

LET'S PUT THIS INTO BALANCE:

~During a usual influenza season 250,000 to 500,000 people die.
~Predicting the size and severity of influenza or other epidemic outbreaks is very inexact.  This unpredictability makes forecasting the nature of the progression nearly impossible.
~In 1976, the US government predicted a swine flu pandemic...it never happened and a few people reportedly died from reactions to the vaccine that was used to inoculate almost ¼ of the US population.
~In 2002, SARS (Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome) was the worldwide terror (8,096 known infected cases and 774 deaths worldwide).

OTHER IDEAS:

Wash your hands frequently using a gentle, all natural soap
          (www.Ritualwaters.com or Vermontsoap.com)
Away from home - use Purely Fresh Hand Cleanser/Disinfectant
Eat healthy:  Chicken soup is anti-inflammatory, antiviral, lowers
inflammation, breaks up congestion, and lowers production of
phlegm.  Avoid dairy and wheat products as they create
          mucous.
