112Overview:   

Date: 9/10/2009. As of this writing, Costa Rica has just re-opened for international adoption (program closed in 2003). Costa Rica is a beautiful, small country located in Central America. The program is very small with very few adoption agencies working with this country.

Children Available: Current Costa Rican law prohibits adoption of children less than four years of age, except in cases in which the child is part of a family group. Sibling groups of two to five members ranging in age from 2-13 are available.
