Dust Immunity Application Note for Microbridge
| |  This new application note, numbered MB-APP51, compares Microbridge's LPS sensors to similar sensors in a dusty environment. Tested at a common differential pressure, results showed that competitive sensors tested, which have a lower flow impedance, went out of calibration or failed while the Microbridge sensors, which have a high flow impedance, stayed in calibration.
Why? Microbridge's thermo-anemometer principle allows sensing of very low differential pressure. Tests done on various thermo-anemometers from different manufacturers show the importance of flow impedance. Microbridge has a high flow impedance of 10 kPa up to hundreds of kPa which means it needs less flow to make a measurement. Tube connections thus cause smaller errors than the competition due to this high flow impedance.
Similarly, in a dusty environment, filters are often inserted in the tubing to protect the sensor. Typically pressure drop is affected, thus degrading the sensor's ability to measure effectively. However, with Microbridge sensors, any filter-induced change in airflow is small to negligible because of its high impedance.

Ultra Small MS5607 Altimeter With SPI & I2C

 The MS5607is a high resolution, fast response altimeter with an SPI and I2C interface. With a wide pressure range of 10-1200 mbar, the MS5607 also has a wide temperature-compensated range of -40C to 85C and low power supply of 1.8 to 3.6V. Optimized for altimeters and variometers, the module includes a high linearity pressure sensor and a low power 24 bit ADC. A temperature output is also included. Ultra small package of 5.0 mm X 3.0 mm and 1.0 mm high make the MS5607 ideal in mobile devices. Samples are available for approximately $16 each with production orders beginning in June. New Ceramic Pressure Sensor From Metallux

 The new ME75X Seriesfrom Metallux is a monolithic ceramic pressure sensor with a choice of 3 outputs: ratiometric 0.5-4.5V, non-ratiometric 0-10V or 4-20 mA. This gauge sensor measures 2-400 bar between -25C and 125C.
An on-board ASIC provides temperature compensation and aging detection. With excellent chemical resistance, the ME750 sensors can measure pressure in nearly all aggressive media.
