Big East: A Success!
From April 30 to May 2, 103 youth exhibited their steers and jackpot heifers at The Big East Regional Youth and Jackpot Show held on The Big E Fairgrounds. This show was very successful with five breeds of heifers shown, a jackpot steer show, a youth steer show and showmanship competitions. There were youth exhibitors from all six New England states, as well as New York, Pennsylvania and Ohio. It was a competitive show and a great start to the spring!
Congratulations to the winners and to all the exhibitors for a great show!
Remember to save the date for next year: May 6-8, 2011! |

It will be featuring award winning cheeses from The Big E Gold Medal Cheese Competition held at the Eastern States Exposition every August. Vintner's Harvest On the evening of May 19, 2010, the ESE Foundation held its annual wine tasting fundraising event, A Vintner's Harvest. The Foundation's mission is to enhance and create programs through Eastern States Exposition that promote youth education, agricultral education, history and leadership. Winning wines from last year's wine competition were sampled and could be puchased at the silent auction. A sumptuous buffet rounded out the event. In the end, over $3,000 was raised for the Foundation. A big thank you goes out to all who donated and/or helped make this event successful!
