Smythe Cramer is now showcasing an eye-catching
sculptural presentation by two members of the Shaker
Class of 2007. The life-size human silhouettes
depicting the community, entitled "Walks of Life," are
the work of Mary Winkelman and Courtney Kinter. As

Republic, Egypt, England, Ethiopia, France, Germany,
India, Indonesia, Israel, Italy, Japan, Norway,
Philippines, Puerto Rico, South Korea, St. Thomas,
Sweden, Taiwan, Thailand, and Uruguay.
"Making the Grade: Helping Our Kids Achieve," a
documentary featuring several Shaker students and
staff members, has received an Emmy from the
Lower Great Lakes Chapter of the National Academy
of Television Arts and Sciences. The hour-long
program highlighted several educational success
stories, including members of Shaker's highly
successful Federal Reserve Challenge economics

community for Tour Your Schools Day on Monday,
October 8.

The quality of the public schools emerged as the
top reason residents gave for moving to Shaker
Heights in a survey released by the City this week.
Schools were cited by 68% of residents surveyed as a
factor having "a lot of impact" on their decision to
locate here, closely followed by the community's
natural beauty, quality of housing, location, and
