Woodbury School?s Science Olympiad team defeated Hawken, Mayfield, and several other schools to take home the overall first place trophy, a sportsmanship award, 12 individual trophies (including 6 first places) and 55 individual medals from the regional tournament held at Cleveland State University on February 25. The team competed in 24 different science-related events.

Team members include: Brian Benton, Ritam Chakraborty, Becca Christman, Phillip Fields, Nick Haubrich, Anthony Johnson, Kathleen Kalafatis, Clara Kao, Raviteja Kasturi, Christine Kil, Matthew Langhinrichs, Mark Lewandowski, Otto Lyon, Nia Morgan, Josh Piepenburg, Anna Pitas, Kyle Qian, Karim Ragab, Norhan Ragab, Josh Schultheiss, Spencer Seballos, LJ Shelven, Brianna Stack, Colin Sweeney, Alexander Yule, and LuKun Zhang. The coaches who helped prepare the students for the competition are: Katherine Brewster, James Carter, Carola Drosdeck, Carol Hochman, Gwendolyn Lewis, Amy Libman, and Diane Mulligan. The middle school science Olympiad team came in 5th place, and qualified for state competition. Receiving medals were Sarah Leonard and Allison Boyd in Genetics.

Shaker Heights Middle School presents Fiddler on the Roof this weekend. More than 80 students are involved as cast and crew members in this production of the classic musical. Tickets are sold at the door, and seating is on a first come first serve basis. This is a fantastic show for any age! Curtain times are Friday at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday at 2:00 p.m.

The High School A Cappella Choirs and Orchestra join the First Baptist Church Chancel Choir on March 29 to present Mozart's Requiem. The performance, in honor of Mozart's 250th birthday, begins at 7 p.m.at First Baptist Church, Fairmount Boulevard and Eaton Road. Free and open to the public.
