First S enior at 7 Sreening Finds Early Heart Disease in Dog

A 9-year-old Maltese by the name of Whitey is barking thanks that his owner knew about our Senior at 7 Screening. Without it, we might have never known that Whitey has early-stage heart disease. Now he will get the care he needs to continue living a healthy, active life.

The important word here is "early." With early intervention, you can preserve your pets quality of life and avoid unnecessary suffering. Without it, there's a silent killer on the loose.

Our Senior at 7 Screening is available during January and February to all cats and dogs age 7 and over. It's specifically designed to detect age-related conditions--like heart disease--before they can threaten your pet's life. Your pet gets a senior blood profile, EKG, chest and abdominal X-rays, and a complete physical exam for only $219.

Just a reminder: the dates for my 2012 lectures series are now set. The first one is Friday, February 3 at 7:00 pm. You'll find all the details below. These are educational events, but they're also a lot of fun, so mark your calendar and join us.

Dr. Dan's Lecture Series
Our fearless founder Dr. Dan Meakin can't seem to stop talking about his passion: keeping our pets heal
thy, active, and engaged in our lives. But Dr. Dan is more than just talk. He brings decades of experience at the helm of one the region's most recognized veterinarian and pet care practices. When the doc speaks, animal lovers tend to listen. Smart, huh?

Dr. Dan's lectures are free to the community. Pet owners, breeders, kennel operators, shelter and rescue folks, the occasional looky-loo.

If you're looking a boring medical lecture, Dr. Dan will be happy to disappoint you. You'll learn a lot, but it won't feel like school. We'll also throw in refreshments, goodie bags, door prizes, and a little entertainment from Dr. Dan and his trusty guitar. We would say that his performance alone is worth the price of admission, but there is no price. Everything is gratis, comp, on the house, free.

All lectures are in the training room of our Amelia facility (second floor) from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm (unless otherwise noted), although the socializing usually lasts longer. Be sure to subscribe to our newsletter to receive reminders about upcoming lectures.

Dr. Dan is looking forward to hanging with you.

Using Our Online Calendar

You've probably noticed that there's always something going on here at All Creatures: charity events, lectures, puppy socials, clinics, and more. That's why we've added a pretty nifty calendar to our website that shows you all the happenings at a glance. There's a small version right on the homepage, which you can expand to full screen.

You can view it as a standard calendar gird or a text list. Just click the event to open a new window with full details.

The coolest part is you can add the event to your Outlook calendar with one simple click.

Remember that all of our events are either completely free or require just a small donation to whatever charity we are helping out. In the case of our vaccine clinics, you can get all the vaccines your pets needs without paying for an office visit.

Dr. Dan and the crew look forward to hangin' with you and yours in 2012.
