Elphi 2012 Celebration!
Malibu Camp Weekend
Dear (Contact First Name),Here's some important information for our upcoming weekend trip. Malibu organizers are sending 2 pages on Monday, one Waiver that Malibu requires filling out and returning to Mrs. Mearns, and one detailed newsletter with important information for you all. 1 : Important! New Medical Waivers
Malibu has its own medical forms going home Monday. These are intended for the American audience, so not all of it pertains to us on this trip. Please disregard these sections:
~ Doctor's signature (second box down). Fill out what you can and sign bottom of box.
~ Immunization Record, not required, but Health History and Allergy info section could be filled out in that box.
~Accident Coverage Insurance number is BC Health Card number. There will be no policy number.
Please bring forms back Tuesday and give to Ms. Mearns.

2: SD46 Permission Forms
These were due last Tuesday. Make sure yours is in or bring in to office now. |

3: Organize Your Ride to Egmont!
We are getting carpools together. Parent Chaparones are driving students up, and there will be one extra School Van for the remainder. All students or parents must contact organizers to set their ride to Egmont up. We are using Malibu Parking lot in Egmont.
Darin Macey is organizing rides up to Egmont for students. He can be reached here: dmacey@dccnet.com . Please let him know if your student isn't aware of the car he or she is riding in.

4: Meeting Time Friday Morning
We have final times for departures from Egmont, 1 pm and 3:30 pm, so we are leaving school in two waves. Someone will let you know what time your ride is leaving. Please meet in school cafeteria Friday at the following times:
First wave meets at 10:30 am,
Second wave meetss at 1:00pm.
Bags are to be at school on Thursday, and they will be packed up in school van for you and brought to Egmont.
Sunday the first wave students leave first,approximately 11 am,and the second wave leaves second, around 1:30 pm.

5: Packing for the Weekend
Please put name clearly on your backpack or bag. Oganizers have included a good list in the letter home, but to reiterate:
Rain Gear, Swimming Suits, Good Walking Footwear, Warm Clothes, Camera, a book, $$ for Camp Store or Coffee shop (may be open)
Bags/Backpacks are to be at school on Thursday, (room to be announced), and they will be packed up in school van for you and brought to Egmont. Please note all bags may be searched prior to loading.
Note: Bedding, linens and pillows, & Towels provided.

6: Parents going on trip
We have a big support staff going along on this trip. Close to 25 of our parents are going along as Work Crew, plus our own Doctor, Life Guard, and one or two Police Liason Officers. These people are all volunteering their weekend for us. Thank-you so much for generously donating your time everyone.
Parents, please bring your cheque for your own transportation to the office before 3pm Thursday May 10:

7: Wrap-up. What needs to be done by Friday:
So to summarize what is required:
1. School District Permission Forms to Office
2. Malibu Medical Waiver to Mrs. Mearns' Class
3. Contact Organizers re Car Pool to Egmont
4. Bring bags/backpacks. labelled, to school Thursday
5. Parents going bring cheque to office by Thursdday
6. Meet in Cafetieria at 10:30 or 1:00 Friday as requested. |

memorable experience for all the students participating.
