AGC Houston is now offering the CM-BIM Credential (Certificate of Mangement - Building Information Modeling). The first exam is available to anyone who has completed the BIM Education Program on October 7, 2011.
For those interested in the CM-BIM, a new BIM Education series begins September 15th.

This course will provide an overview of the risk management and insurance profession from the health and safety program perspective. Specific topics covered will include identifying and analyzing loss exposures; risk management alternatives; implementation and monitoring the effectiveness of selected risk management techniques; and suggested strategies for improving environmental, safety, and health programs using risk management principles.

WANTED: ARCHITECTURE, ENGINEERING AND CONSTRUCTION PROFESSIONALS Currently, ACE Mentor Houston is looking for mentors for the 2011-2012 school year to begin mid-October and conclude in April. Mentors and students will meet bi-weekly, for two hours after school and work (5-7pm), at one of four locations to work on their year-long projects. The school year ends with a competition of project presentations and a scholarship awards program. Being a part of ACE Mentor is a great way to give back to your community and industry.

SAM HOUSTON STATE UNIVERSITY HOSTS CAREER FAIR
The Sam Houston State University, Agricultural & Industrial Sciences Department, Industrial Technology Program will have a career fair Thursday September 22, 2011. This career fair is intended to introduce the students to potential occupational offerings and to introduce prospective employers to students of this program.
The Industrial Technology Program offers degrees in Construction Management, Design & Development, Electronics, and Industrial Education.
