Social Recruiting Yet?

Bruce PowellSurprising, in 2011 only 89% of companies used social media for recruiting.  I'm amazed - why wasn't it 100%!?

Frankly, LinkedIn is the best thing that's ever happened to recruiting.  As the world's largest business networking site, it enables corporations to hire better, faster and more effectively than any other technology in history.  At IQ PARTNERS 'Hiring Better' is what we're all about so this month's issue of IQ Insight is dedicated to LinkedIn.  Get on board - and let's get that number to 100%!

On behalf of us at IQ PARTNERS,

Bruce Powell,
Managing Partner

IQP Interview: The LinkedIn Effect

We recently had the opportunity to sit down with Peter Gima, National Manager for Canada at LinkedIn to discuss social recruiting and best hiring practices. More than anyone, LinkedIn is responsible for the use of social recruiting i.e., the process of sourcing or recruiting candidates through the use of social platforms.

Peter oversees LinkedIn's sales team and works with organizations to help drive awareness of understanding of LinkedIn's solutions and how they can be applied to increase effectiveness and reduce costs in their recruitment strategies.

5 Tips for Optimizing Your LinkedIn Profile for Your Job Search
By: Anita Windisman

According to the JobVite 2011 Social Recruiting Survey, 89% of companies use or plan to use social media for recruiting. In order for job seekers to be found, they need to be visible on social networking sites, and in particular LinkedIn - the largest social networking site for business professionals, with over 135 million members worldwide.

If you are looking for job, either actively or passively, you need a LinkedIn profile that not only showcases your expertise and credentials, but one that is optimized so that you will be found in searches.
