Welcome to Sustainable Solutions Corporation

Greetings!

We are excited to share the news of our 10th anniversary.  Sustainable Solutions Corporation (SSC) is a firm driven by our passion to make things better, one green transformation at a time.  With a focus quite simply on reducing waste and using fewer resources, SSC offers a variety of corporate sustainability services and training programs to provide business executives from firms like James Campbell Company, Black & Decker, CertainTeed and Lycoming opportunities to work, live and lead greener, more sustainable businesses.  What makes us so different is our expertise in sustainability education and our thorough implementation process for:

·         Integrated Corporate-Wide Sustainability Training

·         Life Cycle Assessment Programs - Cradle to Cradle

·         Sustainable Buildings Programs incorporating ENERGY STAR             and LEED Certifications

For us, the excitement begins in the transformation we see among young team members who come onboard wanting to change the world and make it a better place - often a little discouraged by the views of the news and media and from past work experiences.  They are quickly inspired to see the way we are different, dedicated and truly involved in the process of the green revolution . . . transforming one business at a time.

Why our people love working here:

"SSC is a dynamic workplace where it seems we're always among the vanguard in implementing new ideas and technologies. You can feel good about what you do and get to rub shoulders with the leaders of the still relatively small green revolution community. . . ."

- Jeremy Kuhre, Sustainable Buildings & Operations Manager

The bottom line is, if we want our environment and our economy to remain fully sustainable for us and future generations, the only choice we have is to integrate sustainable solutions into the way we all do business.

Please join us in this venture.

Warm regards,

Tad Radzinski

Sustainability Training

Sustainable Product Design Training

Consumers and customers everywhere are driving a new green and sustainable marketplace.  Consumer demand requires corporations to be more responsible for their products.  A key component of product stewardship is designing sustainable products that minimize impacts on the environment and people.

SSC offers courses which provide manufacturers with high level training on sustainable product development and product stewardship, including concepts and hands-on workshop activities to assist with integrating sustainability, life cycle thinking and sustainable product design tools into the product development process.

Partnering with AFREC to Spread Sustainability

Alternative Fuels and Renewable Energy Council (AFREC) and Sustainable Solutions Corporation have partnered to offer AFREC Strategic Alliance Partners:  Sustainability... a Business Strategy, a three-part series on the evolving Green Market and Sustainability strategies that work. These sessions are being offered in conjunction with the quarterly AFREC Council Meetings.

Sustainability is increasingly recognized as the key to succeeding in today's progressive marketplace; a new kind of capitalism is evolving based on the concepts around the triple bottom line.  James Womack of the Lean Enterprise Institute calls this a solutions economy which will almost always improve customer value and service providers' bottom line results because it aligns both parties' interests: doing more good things with less.  Integrating sustainable programs is a valuable concept to ensure the effective, productive, long-term operation of any organization.

The Tallest PV Install in Philly!

Byrne

This month marks the completion of a monumental solar panel installation in Philadelphia.  The James A. Byrne Courthouse on East Market Street uses 369 Sanyo photovoltaic modules to produce solar energy to offset their energy usage.  The solar array is sized at 81kW and required zero roof penetrations.  The system is located on the 22nd floor, which makes it the tallest photovoltaic installation in all of Philadelphia.  The Byrne Courthouse will now produce enough solar energy to power 7.5 homes every year or offset 60.5 metric tons of CO2.

Home Energized by the Sun and Firm Awarded the Timber Frame of the Month.

SSC designed this Douglas fir solar pergola with a 5.85 kW solar array consisting of Sanyo Bifacial Photovoltaic panels.  This pergola has won the Timber Frame Business Council's coveted title: Timber Frame of the Month.  The translucent panels are mounted to the frame with a Florian racking system which forms a waterproof roof.  The beautiful Douglas fir frame was manufactured and installed by Hugh Lofting Timber Framing.  The timber frame was successfully installed in May and is now expected to generate approximately 75% of the electricity for the residence.

ENERGY STAR

Factories are not the only ones who can emit less . . .

Did you know that buildings where an energy management strategy is implemented not only see a 10-30% cost savings in their monthly overhead expenses, but can also lower their building's emissions by 30-50%?

  • Energy efficiency is an emerging priority for tenants, buyers and investors alike.
  • There are currently only 13,700 ENERGY STAR certified buildings in all of the United States.
  • Recently, cities such as New York City, San Francisco and Washington, D.C. have begun requiring energy scores be measured and reported.
  • Top performing ENERGY STAR labeled schools cost forty cents per square foot less to operate than average performers.

Call us and discover how easy it is to find out your ENERGY STAR score and how we can help you improve it.
