I love computers because they allow me to do anything I can imagine. If I want to create a cd all I have to do is write the music, perform it, record it and import the recording onto my computer. Then all I have to do is open an account on CDBaby.com and begin selling my CD to thew world. In the olden days, i.e. before 1990 if you wanted to do a given thing you needed a lot of personal connections and money. Now all you need is an idea and talent. 

Before the internet if you wanted to publish a book you had to get a book deal. Yes there were vanity publishers who would print anything you wanted, but unless you just wanted to hand out your new book to friends and your mom you were out of luck. Now all you need to do is go to Lulu.com upload your book and sell it online.

The modern home computer can edit high definition video, run business applications and allow anyone to video chat for free with anyone else in the world. I am in fact communicating with all of you instantaneously and am able to draw your attention to the communications of others with this modern miracle, this magic box. The capabilities of the home computer are the stuff of science fiction from as recently as forty years ago. In fact the way your computer works is not dissimilar to the way the computers worked on the original Star Trek television series.

All of this and they play video games too.
