Dr. Joan's Life Tip of The Month

Healthy eating begins with reading labels (when you're not eating fresh foods, of course). Avoid anything with the words "preserved", "fortified", "-free", or words you have never heard of before.

What is Dr Joan up to?
- Sitting Kills, Moving Heals has been getting widely reviewed as part of my virtual book tour. I have been able to write a handful of guest posts for organizations that cater to staying healthy and to author communities. Here is one from the Body Capable, Office Worker's Lifestyle group.
- On August 24th, my husband and I paid a visit to the writers' Group Coffee Shop at the Senior Center in Charlottesville, VA, this time about Chocolate in advance of the publication of our new chocolate book.  Great fun!
- On August 29th, I was featured on Jimmy Moore's fascinating program Living La Vida Low-Carb.  Check it out here.
- I attended the Virginia Author's event at the Porter Library in Stafford, VA. It was wonderful to connect personally with so many about their own paths to greater wellness.

Upcoming Events:

-I am preparing for the first of its kind, "International Workshop on Space, Health, Aging and Yoga Therapy on September 7th in Palo Alto, California. An impressive panel is being gathered with diverse backgrounds and perspectives.

-Will be speaking September 8th at the 2012 International Yoga Conference. My topic: "Sitting Kills, Moving Heals: Solutions to Modern Health Hazards."
- September 10th will be in Chevy Chase, MD speaking to the Hadassah group on Sitting Kills,
- October 3rd sharing thoughts on Sitting Kills, Moving Heals at a private reception in London, UK
