Dr. Joan's Life Tip of The Month

On these hot days of summer if you must use your air-conditioning, set it at 78 degrees or as high as is comfortably manageable. Like your other body systems, let your body temperature react to the environment. It's part of keeping your thermoregulator tuned for optimal functioning, whether it be summer or winter.

What is Dr Joan up to?
- In advance of her new book Sitting Kills, Moving Heals we've been reading all the new research showing what Dr. Joan talks about: simple, everyday movement is key to living better, and often longer.
- Spoke July 14 at the Walter Reed Senior Center in Arlington, VA, on Stress and the Human Body.
- Two days later, Dr. Joan spoke with an engaged group at the Culpepper Garden Senior Center in Arlington, VA, on Stress and the Senior Lifestyle.
-On July 10, enjoyed a great performance of La Boheme at the Castleton Festival with Loren Maazel conducting.
-"This month I said my goodbyes to special friend Caroline, who died July 11 after a serious car accident" ~ Joan.
