Hello and welcome to our 'new look' newsletter.
I've had a very productive spell of painting, one of the reasons I haven't managed to do a newsletter for a while. The passion to paint has been taking over!
I've also been enjoying twittering too much, although my twittermoon is now over and it's back to work.
There are four paintings on this newsletter that I would like to share with you - I hope you like them.

Uber Valley

Uber Wales - revisited!
I tried to strengthen the colours here pushing the envelope in terms of maximising the adhesiveness of each tone. In other words any darker and the application of the wash would remove the paint on the previous wash. This was not easy and there were many failures.
It has produced one of the most three dimensional works I have ever produced. It has the depth of an oil painting to it. I'll defiantly be experimenting further with these bold tones.

Uber Harvest
Uber Harvest is the latest Uber design.
I morphed the previous work on Uber Wales into this one, in particular the foreground trees. The possibilites here were endless; I had to stop as I was just going around in circles.
The palette here is in stark contrast to the previous painting, unusually bright and light painting almost continental.
I used twitter a lot in the development of this painting. If you want a greater insight into how I develop my work, why not follow my tweets on twitter

Uber Birch

The fourth painting is a morphosis of Uber Birch.
I have hugely changed the composition and made brave changes to the palette with pleasing results.
I can see how future changes will develop this classic image. It has made me think hard about the use of brown in areas where it is not normally applied, such as the sky. I can see circumstances where Überpaintings could move further to the surreal.

Uber Door

The introduction of the Uber Door has been a break from landscape and has been tremendous fun.
I lived in Mexico in 2001 for three months and the Doorways of San Christobal De Las Cases became a slight obsession. This is the first time I have Ubered them and am excited for the future developments.
To break down architecture into the Uber technique I can see presents an entirely different set of challenges. I am looking here at simple colour combinations. This will be a major factor in these paintings in the future as unlike landscape the ability to express with colour is slightly more open ended.
