Dear Fellow Alumni,

Last month we acknowledged the fact that, as of 2011, Kwantlen and its earliest graduates now go back as far as three decades! This month, however, we are celebrating our newest graduates turned alumni members -- the spring 2011 graduating class!

This is not just any graduating class, mind you. It is the largest graduating class in Kwantlen's history! In fact, during this exciting three-day convocation event (June 8, 9 and 10), a total of 763 new graduates crossed the Kwantlen stage, instantly becoming part of our 34,000-strong alumni family. On behalf of KPUAA and your fellow alumni members, I extend a warm welcome and my congratulations to all!

As you know, our alumni association is built upon helping our fellow alumni (especially our young alumni) reach long term personal and professional success. Therefore, I encourage all of our longstanding members to reach out and offer your support to these newest members.

Whether it be connecting with them at an alumni event, posting a job through the Kwantlen Career Services job board or offering to share your expertise through an informational interview or mentoring program, giving back provides a personally rewarding opportunity to both teach and learn!

For more information on A2A opportunities, please contact the alumni office today at 604.599.3158 or alumni@kwantlen.ca

All the best,

Kristan Signature

Alumni Highlight: One of our newest!

Stephan Struve

Stephan Struve Class of 2011

This month's alumni highlight is, of course, dedicated to KPUAA's newest alumni members! Stephan Struve, winner of the Dean's Medal, is just one of the 763 spring 2011 Kwantlen grads set to receive their official Kwantlen Alumni Card! Congratulations Stephan and to the rest of the 2011 class! We hope to meet all of you in persona at the next alumni mixer!

So where does journalism grad Stephan Struve see himself in 10 years? Hint: his professional title may include the words "motorcycle riding triathlete-professor." However, one year from now he still envisions eating "endless portions of ramen noodles." That's okay, Stephan, we know you're headed for big things. Click here to read about Stephan's plans for the future, his favourite Kwantlen moment and what has inspired him most.

Did You Know? The word "alumni" refers to anyone who was granted a degree, honorary degree, diploma, certificate or citation by Kwantlen College, Kwantlen University College or Kwantlen Polytechnic University. There is no charge for membership in KPUAA and upon graduation, students automatically become members.
