Increased and Retained Sales
Reach One Billion DollarsNJMEP and its clients have hit a major milestone. Together they have achieved over one billion dollars in increased and retained sales. In addition to the impact on sales, NJMEP's clients have realized $183 million dollars in cost savings and have created 2,279 new jobs and saved 10,672 positions that otherwise would have been lost. All results were obtained by independent third party surveys and reflect the eleven years that NJMEP has been serving small to mid-sized manufacturers in the state. Read more.

MEP Conference
The 2010 Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP) National Conference took place in Orlando from May 2 - May 5. Key personnel from NJMEP attended. The theme of this year's conference was "Profitable Growth: A New Story for U.S. Manufacturing." The emphasis on the conference was E3 - Economy, Energy, and Environment. E3 is a coordinated federal and local technical assistance initiative that is helping manufacturers across the nation adapt and thrive in a new business era focused on sustainability.

Disposal For Everyone
New regulations have been put in place regarding the disposal of used dry-cell batteries. The US DOT placed new regulations on the transportation of these batteries. These new regulations, along with a reduction in dry cell battery toxicity warranted a change in the disposition of batteries. Rechargeable and button batteries are to be recycled, while non-rechargeable batteries, such as alkaline, can be disposed of as normal trash. City Theatrical (CTI) is a world leader in the design, development and manufacture of theatrical and event lighting. The company was an early innovator in wireless DMX and is the winner of three LDI product awards. DMX is a communication protocol that is used in the entertainment industry worldwide to operate lighting and other equipment.
