Greetings!

Gas prices sure have dropped in the past couple of weeks, but reThinkers like you have already been enjoying lower gas prices from reThinking the way you get to work. Whether it's carpooling or bike commuting, higher gas prices didn't hit you as hard as others who continued to drive alone to work.

Share your stories by emailing us at info@reThinkYourCommute.com. We'd love to hear your first-hand accounts, see pictures of your vanpool group, learn about how you updated that spare room to be a home office - you name it, we're interested!.

reThink and Aramark Team Up!

Aramark has partnered with reThink to promote local transportation options to its empoyees.  On August 15 and 16, reThink was on hand during their Welcome Back orientation to assist employees in signing up for reThink's free ridematching services, charting a bus or bicycle route, and enrolling into the Emergency Ride Home program.

Serving several locations on the UCF campus, employees commuting to Aramark have several transit options as UCF is home to both a LYNX Super Stop as well as a UCF shuttle service that connects the neighboring apartment complexes with the campus.  Additionally, reThink's free ridematching service was promoted to over three hundred employees to help form carpools.  With so many great options, we look forward to helping many Aramark employees reThink their commute!

I-4 Improvements Kick-Off Meeting

Orlando - The Florida Department of Transportation recently held a Public Kick-off Meeting for the I-4 Ultimate Improvements in Orlando. There have been design modifications to the overall scheme of the South and Anderson Street ramps, which require a public meeting. Construction funding sources for the I-4 project are still being developed at this time.

When construction does occur at a future date, this particular section of the project involves widening approximately four miles of I-4 from six-to-ten lanes (three general use lanes and two special use lanes in each direction), from just south of Orange Blossom Trail (US 441) to north of Colonial Drive (SR 50). The project also includes interchange improvements at US 441, Michigan Street/Kaley Street, SR 408 and SR 50, replacement of I-4 bridge structures and improvements to several city streets.

If you have any questions about the project, please contact the FDOT project manager Ms. Beata Stys-Palasz at (386) 943-5418 or email beata.stys-palasz@dot.state.fl.us. You may also contact Steve Olson, Public Information Officer at 386-943-5479, or steve.olson@dot.state.fl.us
