The City of Deltona Proclaims Support!
Issue: 6
Greetings!

The City of Deltona in Volusia County is home to more than 80,000 residents. A city between Orlando and Daytona Beach, Deltona residents in the workforce have a longer one-way commute time than most Central Floridians (an average of about 34 minutes) and 88% of workers drive alone to work. That's a lot of cars on the road!

To help their residents and workers improve their commute, the City of Deltona is partnering with reThink. In fact, the City proclaimed their official support at their November 1, 2010 City Commission Meeting! Mayor Dennis Mulder signed the Proclamation and the reThink team is ready to help Deltona reThink their commute!

Stuff the Bus in Lake County!

The Lake County Public Transportation Division is hosting its Fifth Annual Stuff the Bus campaign on Saturday, November 20, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Wal-Mart stores in Lake County. The goal of the annual food drive is to stuff a bus full of donated nonperishable food items, baby food, and pet food.

A Lake County Connection bus will be parked at the Wal-Mart stores in Mount Dora at 17030 U.S. Highway 441 and in Leesburg at 2501 N. Citrus Blvd., with volunteers and County employees volunteering their time at each location.  The items collected will be donated to The Salvation Army and the Lake Cares Food Pantry.
