Message from the President
Introduction: I am honored to serve as President of the Laguna Beach Chamber of Commerce. The role of president of the Chamber is first servant to the business community, and I follow the outstanding leadership of Chris Keller in striving to make Laguna Beach a better place for your business and for our residents.
The Chamber Board is constantly striving to create new programs that will serve you better. We want to assure that we are Your First Call when it comes to getting useful information for your business.
Request: We are actively soliciting your input on things the Chamber should do and things the Chamber should change. I invite you to email me at Michael@Kinsmans.com if you have ideas the Chamber should consider. Please also talk with any member of the Board if you have ideas that should be relayed to the Chamber.
Our plans: The Chamber of Commerce will be celebrating our 95th year of service to this community. We intend for the Chamber to be 95 years new in 2012, with new direction and a total make-over of our image and membership services. The Board is excited about the new direction and we look forward to your participation, your comments and suggestions. Remember, this is YOUR organization. Your involvement is key to the success of this organization!
Recent success: The Chamber Installation and Spirit of Laguna Awards banquet at Tivoli Too last Friday night had record attendance, an extremely enjoyable evening and a "buzz" about the new direction. I hope to see you soon at one of our upcoming events!
Sincerely, Michael Kinsman, President Kinsman & Kinsman 2012 Board of Directors

Christa Johnson, Assistant City Manager will be overseeing the City's Economic Development and will be working closely with the Chamber on key issues of interest to the business community. Christa shared an interesting testimonial from one of our members who was pleasantly surprised with the experience he had with the City recently. Read his testimonial below from a recent edition of Stu-News:
I would like to personally thank Elizabeth Pearson, Ann Larson, Christa Johnson, the City of Laguna Beach staff and the Planning Commission for being willing to work with and help a local business succeed. By granting me an event permit (TUP) to hold wine tasting events with food at Laguna Canyon Winery, we will be allowed to work more closely with our local hotels, caterers and restaurants; Visitors and Conference Bureau; Chamber of Commerce; and other businesses - which will in turn benefit all and add to the City's revenues. The guidance and support exceeded my expectations. I am so grateful to the City for being there when I needed them.
