Presiding Bishop Nominating Committee
In a letter dated July 29, 2011 and addressed to all members of the ECC, the Presiding Bishop Nominating Committee is asking for your opinion. (To see the one-page letter, click here.)
Excerpts from the letter...
"The committee wants to learn the needs and hopes of ECC communities for our next Presiding Bishop. The committee decided that the best initial method for sharing these concerns, while allowing anonymity, is to use a survey, which you will be receiving soon. In this survey, we ask you to share your view of goals, challenges, and pressing concerns of the ECC, as well as what questions you think we should ask of our candidates for Presiding Bishop.
"Your participation is important, because the ECC is a communion of communities, and we want to hear from each of you. We understand that summer is a busy time for many, but we hope that you will take time to join us in this part of the discernment process."
We will share the survey when it is published.

The Matthew 25 Fund Needs Your Help!
The main purpose of the Matthew 25 fund is to give temporary financial assistance to members of our Sts. Clare & Francis community. Unless someone who has received assistance has told you about it, you have probably never heard about anyone who has been helped by Matthew 25. That is as it should be! Information concerning community members who allow us the privilege to assist them is held in the strictest confidence.
If you are in need of support from our Matthew 25 fund, or if you know someone in our community who may need our support, please contact Peggy Montgomery at 314.647.0664 or catto89@hotmail.com
The Matthew 25 fund is supported by the generosity of our own community. Our funds are coming very close to being depleted. If you can help us with a donation, it would be much appreciated. Just place your gift in the collection basket. If it's a check, please make it payable to Matthew 25. If it's cash, just put it in an envelope marked "Matthew 25." Thank you in advance for supporting this important ministry!

3rd Annual SCF Trivia Night
Mark your calendar for the 3rd Annual Sts. Clare & Francis Trivia Night! We are returning to The Heights on October 14, 2011, for a fun filled evening from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. Trivia will begin at 7:00 p.m. Watch for the reservation form.
We are in need of financial contributions, attendance prizes, silent auction items and volunteers to make this a successful event. If you know someone who owns a business, please ask them to make a contribution to a great cause. All of us have favorite restaurants or shops that we frequent. The next time you visit one of your favorite places, ask them for a gift certificate. Most places really do enjoy giving back to the community.
1. If you would like to volunteer, contact Mary Ellen Kruger at mek002@hotmail.com or 314-962-0964.
2. If you have an attendance prize donation that you believe has a value of $25 or less, please contact Peggy Montgomery at catto89@hotmail.com or 314-647-0664.
3. If you have a silent auction donation that you believe has a value over $25, please contact Nancy Wamser at walksoftly6@yahoo.com or 314-394-6654.
Put October 14th on your calendar and start working on getting together a group of friends to join you. |
