The city of Suzhou is well regarded as an innovation hub, being ranked top 3 in "2010 China's Most Innovative Cities" by Forbes, and has also been designated by China's Ministry of Science and Technology as China's nanotech cluster, with a focus on commercialization. Suzhou has the vibrant Suzhou Industrial Park (SIP) that already houses 20,000 multinational and national companies, and is now home to Nanopolis Suzhou, a focal point for nanotechnology commercialization, which will total one square kilometer when fully completed. A further 10 billion RMB (about 1.5 billion USD) has been committed for the next 5 years to further develop Suzhou's high-tech and nanotech enabled industries. SIP has developed world class R&D and commercialization capabilities in the areas of Micro- & Nano-manufacturing Technologies, Energy and Green Technologies, and Nano Medicine. It is equipped with the state-of-the-art micro/nano-fabrication and characterization facilities as well as gas/water purification laboratories with plans to establish a complete energy and green technology ecosystem.
We will arrange for site visits of Suzhou's nanotechnology/water purification infrastructure and commercialization capabilities. Suzhou is a beautiful, ancient garden city known as the "Venice of the Orient" and we will provide you with glimpses of the city's charm, too.
We look forward to welcoming you in Suzhou!
