"One Bill" is Here!

By popular demand, patients at St. Peter's will now receive one consolidated bill for most hospital and clinic services.  The new billing system also allows patients to pay online.  Staff worked for nearly three years to build the new system which was the result of patient feedback.  The final system was devised following recommendations received at several patient focus groups.  Because the emergency physicians, anesthesiologists and pathologists are independent, patients using those services at the hospital will continue to receive additional statements from those entities.  Questions about the new system or hospital bills may be directed to Business Office Director Sheri Renney at srenney@stpetes.org or 444-2184.  Questions about St. Peter's Medical Group clinic bills may be directed to Laurie Coverdell-Hall at lcoverdell@stpetes.org or 447-2813.

Hospital Visitor Precautions

Several cases of Norovirus and influenza have been reported in the community.  For the protection of patients, staff and volunteers, St. Peter's Hospital requests that individuals with flu-like symptoms or other illness refrain from visiting patients.  Anyone who had symptoms within the past week should not come to the hospital.  Please express well wishes to loved ones who are hospitalized by phone or card instead of a personal visit.  To read more about what St. Peter's is doing to protect people from the viral illness currently circulating in the region and how you can protect yourself, click here.

Medical Tips on TV

Medical MinuteHeart attack symptoms to nutrition tips...St. Peter's new televised Medical Minute segments feature local physicians and medical professionals offering useful health tips - in just 60 seconds!  The Medical Minute airs on Beartooth NBC, Channel 1, on Mondays during the 6 and 10 p.m. newscasts and  throughout the week.  It also airs on KHBB, Channel 5, at various times.  This month Registered Dietitian Jennifer Colegrove shows how to identify processed, sweetened and empty-calorie foods; understand portion size, and many more practical tips that you can easily remember and use when it comes to shopping, meal planning and eating.  Past Medical Minutes can be viewed here.

New Class for Moms & Daughters

St. Peter's is offering a new "Growing Up and Growing Strong with Mom" workshop for girls and their mothers or other trusted female guardian in a safe and nurturing environment at the hospital on Saturday, March 17, from 9:30 a.m. to noon.  Presented by Pediatrician Michelle Danielson, M.D., of Partners in Pediatrics, the workshop is geared toward girls ages 10 to 13 to learn about and navigate together the sometimes rocky road of adolescence, puberty and maturity.  Each daughter will receive a small gift; light refreshments will be served.  The fee is $10 for mom/guardian and daughter; $5 for each additional daughter. Call 444-2130 with any questions. Click here to register.
