MiNDS Application Questions
Review of applications continues

Applying to Grad School
Linking up with a MiNDS supervisor
Finding a supervisor is a key part of process for admission to the MiNDS program.  Every student admitted to the program has the support of one or more MiNDS faculty members.

So what should you do if you have not found a supervisor.

If you have not contacted faculty then you should do that right away.  If you have contacted potential supervisors but not heard back from them then send another email.

Take a look at the article that I wrote on GradsKool for help with how to find a supervisor and what to put in the email that you send.

Some things to consider including in your email are:
  • the name of the professor that recommended them
  • where you are doing your undergrad degree,
  • your undergrad major,
  • your research experience,
  • your goals for grad studies,
  • why you are interested in their research,
MiNDS is here to help you chose the right connections for your graduate studies.

Thank you for your interest in the MiNDS Graduate program at McMaster University.

Sincerely,

Kathy Murphy PhD
Professor and Director, MiNDS Program McMaster University
