The newest member of the team!
Newaygo, Michigan - March 28, 2011- RiverQuest Charters with great pleasure announces Jay Allen as our newest professional fly fishing guide team member. Jay comes to us with an impressive fly fishing career resume and the complementary skills of a master fly tier and tying instructor. Jay specializes in stream entomology, focusing on not only how entomology relates to how we fly fish, but how, as an innovative fly tier, he can give his clients the upper hand via creative approaches to fly tying.

Jay Allen Biography
 Jay has fly fished for over 25 years and guided for 14 years. Guiding in the eastern and western parts of the United States has given Jay diverse knowledge and experiences which contribute to his unique perspectives on fly fishing. Jay managed a fly fishing program at a guest ranch in Jackson Hole, Wyoming--a role which contributes to his providing an exceptional fly fishing experience. Having worked with anglers of all ages and skill levels, Jay offers clients great opportunities to bring fish to hand, all the while teaching techniques sure to improve success on any water. Jay's passion for entomology is particularly evident in his understanding of the intricacies of nymph fishing. Of course, as with all RiverQuest guides, each guided trip with Jay is centered on the guest, thereby adding to the enjoyment of an awaited day on the river and creating lasting memories.
Jay, wife Heather, and three children-- Makenzie (15), Hudson (11), and Noah (7)--now call the banks of the Muskegon River home. Though wholly committed to our sport, Jay is all the more excited and happy to return to West Michigan. This now is his family's home and the RiverQuest guides, his professional colleagues. So, all of us at RiverQuest enthusiastically and wholeheartedly welcome Jay to the RiverQuest group! We look forward to years of our working together with Jay to provide fly fishermen and women some of the very best in Michigan fly fishing.
