Form 1099 Is Due to the IRS on February 28

IRS Form 1099 is due to the Internal Revenue Service on February 28, 2012.  Forms filed after that date are subject to a $30 per form penalty until March 30.  After March 30, the IRS charges $60, and after August 30, the penalty is $100 per form.

 

Also, if your vendor gives you a correction to a 1099, it needs to be made immediately.  Give us a call so that we can file the corrected Form 1099. The IRS issues a $100 penalty for failure to correct these forms.
