The iPad will be delivered upon completion of the Candidate guarantee period and payment of the fee in full. The name of the person due to receive the Prize must be submitted within one week of vacancy submission to be eligible. The O'Loughlin Group reserves the right to cancel this competition or substitute the prize for one of a similar value at any time and will explain why they have done so upon their site.

The jobs market is almost coming to a close for the year where we get the traditional Christmas hiatus of around two weeks, but I have to say the last few weeks have been at break-neck speed. A rush of jobs has seen ourselves searching and placing positions across Australia with almost every industry sector displaying an up-surge in demand.

At this time of year it is worth recounting the successes and failures and in all of this, acknowledging the efforts of our own in-house talent. If not for the dedication and commitment of each and everyone in our individual businesses the year would have been a lot more difficult. As a result, we are riding a wave of optimism again which hopefully will become more amplified as we move through January and into 2011 proper.

For what it is worth, my predictions for next years jobs market is that we will continue to see the skills shortage bite hard on industries such as Oil and Gas, Resources and Mining, Engineering as well as Health and Education. The unemployment rate will continue to fall to around 5% nationally as we reach what is effectively "full employment".

Finally, the education sector will continue to redefine itself with organisations such as the Site Group (www.sitegroupholdings.com) underpinning a "new way" of sourcing talent and delivering alternative employment solutions to a skills depleted jobs landscape. For organisations whose performance is contingent on having large deployable workforces such as construction, mining and health, these organisations will be a life source for talent acquisition in the future.
