Journaling Workshop with Sandy Gillespie Artist in Residence, January, 2012
This workshop consists of one evening (6--9pm), Jan 26 and one weekend day (10am--2pm) January 28. It is not a writing class. It is an individual exploration of mark making and meaning inherent in that act. Participants will create writings and journals as art objects.
"Writing is communication. Through marks on paper, we come to know ourselves deeply; through sharing what we have written, we claim our right to be ourselves in this world; through listening to others' writing, we recognize our commonalities, even through our differences. Writing is a means to voice and productive participation in our communities."
Cost: $50 suggested tuition. Pay as you can/sliding scale $25-$75.
Sandy Gillespie is an Alaskan artist from Ester. She has a solo exhibit at Alaska State Museum in Juneau in February, 2012. Her residency at Bunnell is made possible with a grant from the Homer Foundation. Read more about Sandy's work here
