Artist in Schools enlivened Homer Middle and Homer High in October
Eddie Wood draws on his own Latin roots and knowledge of music, dance and Spanish when teaching youth partner dancing techniques. Homer Middle School just completed a two-week Latin Partner Dance dance unit, September 26-October 7. The week following, Elizabeth Ware and Mark Robokoff instructed an AIS unit in Greek Theater. Homer High School students studied the idea and purpose of the Greek chorus, selected a choral ode from Sophocles' Oedipus the King and created a Greek Chorus.
Bunnell provides Artist in Schools to ten local k-12 schools with support from Alaska State Council on the Arts, Rasmuson Foundation, Jazzline and ERA Aviation.
