Take Me to the Water, ceramic installation, by Nancy Munro
| Large Sirens, Small Sirens and wall mounted works |
Alaska artist Nancy Munro divides her time between Anchorage and Halibut Cove. Munro's solo exhibit, "Take Me to the Water", draws upon her love affair with the ocean through a series of sculptures inspired by marine life, both mythical and real. Sirens calling sailors to the shore, wall pieces that are part sea creature, part shaman mask--- forms that speak to the wonder of the sea. Munro has explored art since 1997 at the University of California, Berkeley, the Arts Students League in New York City and the University of Alaska, Anchorage. She is the founder of Saltwater Inc.
