ROAD TRIP TIPS
for a tail-waggin' good time

  • Traveling pets should always be secured, either with a dog seat belt or in a crate or kennel that can be buckled into the car.

Bring your dog's regular food, a gallon of your regular water, treats, favorite toys and familiar bedding.

Bring along proof of rabies and other vaccinations if you ar crossing any state lines or national borders.

A health certificate signed by a veterinarian may also be necessary.

Don't forget ID tags in case your pet gets lost. In case your pet's collar comes off and the tags get lost consider getting your pet a microchip.

Stop every 4-6 hours for potty breaks, and give your dog plenty of positive feedback so he knows that everything is OK.

 Dear Rocky,

Dear Rocky,
I heard the veterinarian tell my mom and dad that my teeth are starting to get dirty and that I need to have regular toothbrushing at home.  I am worried, will it hurt?
Sincerely,  Precious Peanut

Dear Precious Peanut,
Brushing your teeth regularly will not hurt.  In fact, you may look forward to toothbrushing because there are a variety of toothpaste flavors for dogs including chicken, fish, and beef.  If you don't like having anything put in your mouth, then your mom and dad can try a dental product that can be added to your water dish which helps fight plaque and freshens your breath.
