DON'T SHOP

ADOPT

Los Angeles now bans the sale of commercially bred dogs in pet stores and is working with pet stores to promote adoption of shelter animals instead.
REMEMBERING YOUR BELOVED PET

  • Plant a tree or shrub in your garden, perhaps adding a dog-breed decorative flag.
  • Keep one of her special toys on the bedside table.
  • Walk or run in a charitable event, perhaps wearing a photo T-shirt of your dog or carrying her ID tag in your pocket.

  • Place her collar around the base of a favorite potted plant.
  • Donate to charity that embodies her spirit. If she loved children, consider a children's charity. or donate money  for trail maintenance in one of the parks you enjoyed together.
  • Arrange a collection of photos in magnetic frames on your fridge.

Keep you pet COOL in the summer heat!

Heat stroke is common when dogs are outside without water and shade in the Arizona Sun.

If you think your pet is over-heated don't hesitate to bring him or her in.  No Appointment needed.  Heat stroke could be fatal.

Dear Rocky,

Dear Rocky,
My people just brought home a puppy.  He does not understand that he needs to go outside to do his "business".  How can I help my people train him?
Sincerely,
Dorothy the Doting Dachsund

Dear Dorothy,
It sure is nice of you to want to help your people with the training of your new family member.  You can guide the little guy outside immediatley after eating, after any play-time and right after naps or waking up at night. But also guide him outside every 2 hours if possible because puppies have very tiny bladders. A Labrador retriever puppy's full bladder is about the size of a lemon and a Yorkshire terrier puppy's bladder is the size of a small grape.
Good luck!
Have a wonderful and safe May.
Thank you for trusting us to provide health care for your beloved, furry family members.
