Greetings!
A very busy cake season is in full swing. From Graduation cakes to Wedding cakes, big and small, people are celebrating life's special moments with Satin Ice cakes. We're pleased to say that Satin Ice is being used by more and more bakers around the world every day. We continue our mission to provide international hands-on training to ensure that Satin Ice users enjoy the best possible results. To our readers who are bakers and cake artists, if you are currently providing Satin Ice instruction at your location - or would like to - please email us at support@satinfinefoods.com. We also are expanding to the home baker with our upcoming retail pack. We tested the concept at the recent International Dairy Deli Bakery Association show in New Orleans, and we were received enthusiastically by supermarkets. We are well on our way to bringing our products to the consumer market very soon. Looking forward to a warm and sunny summer season. BIG ANNOUNCEMENT COMING SOON!
We're almost ready to uncover our new retail box. Keep a look out for a special announcement in the next few weeks. Our Satin Ice Rolled Fondant retail box will be available very soon in White/Vanilla, Ivory/Vanilla and Dark/Chocolate. The highly acclaimed Satin Ice Gum Paste will be available too!
WORLD PASTRY FORUM Next month is the World Pastry Forum. Jorg Amsler will be demonstrating at the Satin Ice booth!
The World Pastry Forum will also mark the launch of the Sugar Arts Institute. SAI is a non-profit enterprise - unifying the edible arts community, raising the standard of excellence, and molding future masters in sugar arts. SAI is founded by Julie Bashore, Master Confectioner.

SATIN ICE ON ITALIAN TV
Italian Cupcakes' own Maurice and Flavia will represent cake design on the new TV show, Wedding House. The pilot will air Monday, June 11th at 9pm on the Italian Wedding TV channel.
During the show they talk about Italian Cupcakes and involve the presenter in a small project with Satin Ice fondant and gum paste!

SISTERS WITH SMILES
Lorelei was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. She has had three open heart surgeries and two strokes and suffers from life threatening seizures. Her family was told that she may never walk or talk, but she and her family worked overtime to prove all the doctors wrong. Now 7 years old, Lorelei is able to walk, and she even talks a little. She has taught her family and friends how to love and to cherish life even more. Shelbey is Lorelei's amazing 5-year-old little sister who always wants to help teach Lorelei everything. Even though life can sometimes be hard, Shelbey is always a trooper and a special blessing to her family.
Lauren Nettles from St. Peters, MO, created special celebration cakes for Lorelei's and Shelbey's recent birthday celebration. Lauren created a large party cake, along with smaller versions for each sister to enjoy. We are proud to add that Lauren also serves Icing Smiles as one of our administrative volunteers.
Icing Smiles is a nonprofit organization that provides custom celebration cakes to families impacted by the critical illness of a child.

Bakers' Fair, UK This summer event played host to a range of exhibitors from across the bakery and food-to-go industry. The Satin Ice booth was abuzz with professionals wanting to know more about us, brand new to the UK market. Jane Hatton, master cake artist, was there with our partner Iain Forbes, to demonstrate the wonders of Satin Ice. http://www.bakersfair.co.uk/

PICTORIAL/HOW TO Alignment
Simple tricks to get the look you want.
 Use piping tips to get circles of various sizes. Plan your pattern and apply to cake with same dimensions. 
For a scalloped edge, use a circle to mark parchment paper and cut to shape.
Apply paper to the surface of your cake with pins to use as a guide.
