March 2012
Greetings!
This month we bring you more interesting stories and announcements. Our staff had a great time meeting everyone at the Atlantic Bakery Expo in Atlantic City last week. Read more about that below, along with a list of other upcoming industry events. We are continuing our global expansion with our recent long-awaited launch into the UK (thank you to all who have been waiting patiently) and we are also now in Russia!
To all of our loyal distributors and retailers, we are stepping up our marketing efforts and will be in touch with you personally to let you know of all that is now available to help with your sales and marketing of Satin Ice products.
To enthusiasts, homemakers and budding cake artists, you'll be happy to know we are inching closer to getting our retail packs into a supermarket near you within months! We're looking forward to introducing even more folks to the magical world of cake artistry with Satin Ice.
Best regards,
Kevin

ATLANTIC BAKERY EXPO
The Atlantic Bakery Expo is a great opportunity to meet and talk directly with retail bakers, cake artists, home bakers and hobbyists. A chance to share ideas, give advice and be exposed to new techniques and products. And this year's show was no exception.
Michelle Bommarito, cake artist and TV personality, was on our team to demonstrate Satin Ice, offering a sneak peek at some of the techniques she has been fine-tuning for years. A bunch of energy and the ultimate professional, Michelle's personal and engaging approach was a crowd favorite. And a special thanks to Ruth and Christine from the Academy of Culinary Arts (Atlantic Cape CC) who pitched in with hands-on help at our booth.
Looking forward to meeting you all again at the next ABE in 2014!

TECHNIQUE/HOW-TO STACKING It may seem like a simple concept, but if you follow these fool-proof steps by Mercedes Strachwsky, you're sure to have a sturdy cake. When making a tiered cake, remember to measure and support. Having all the center supports line up will make your cake strong.

MACY'S ICING SMILE
In 2009, 3 1/2 year old Macy had symptoms of swollen eyes, stomach, and legs. She was diagnosed at that time with Minimal Charge Nephrotic Syndrome, an autoimmune disease that causes kidney problems. When no medicines worked, she was diagnosed with the degenerative form of Nephrotic Syndrome called FSGS. She had a kidney transplant in June 2011, but unfortunately the FSGS recurred in her new kidney. Macy has endured many many treatments since then, but she is still fighting. Denise Pavek of Love Bug Confections in Colorado Springs, CO accepted her call to action for Macy's birthday cake. The fairy cake she made went perfectly with Macy's fairy garden themed birthday. Everyone loved the cake and Macy was so happy.
