Meet Our New Partners: _________________________________________________________________________ Rosalind Chan Rosalind Chan is a world-renowned international cake-decorating instructor, conducting classes in Japan, China, Singapore, Malaysia and Canada. With over 20 years in the industry, she has been the focus of various media, appearing on Malaysian television and in numerous newspapers and business and lifestyle magazines. With the International Centre of Cake Artistry Sdn Bhd (ICCA), Rosalind opened the largest cake decorating retail and instructional facility in Malaysia. Rosalind aspired to pursue baking and decorating from early on. She grew up with her mentor, and mother, creating beautifully decorated birthday cakes and was drawn to the craft. She never forgot her childhood dream, and went on to learn from top British cake designers. She received her Masters in French Pastries from the Ritz Escoffier in Paris and numerous certificates and diplomas including the Advanced Australian and Lambeth Methods of Cake Decorating. In addition to her contribution to the cake decorating industry through instruction, Rosalind offers full cake decorating scholarships and contributes yearly to charity events in Malaysia. She also hosts a large annual cake competition that is coming up in September. We will have more information on this exciting event in our next newsletter. _________________________________________________________________________ Bonnie Gordon Bonnie Gordon began as one of Canada's leading wedding cake designers and chose to make the transition from designer to teacher when she realized she wanted to share her knowledge of the emerging field with others. With a degree in fine arts, a post graduate degree in art education, and a Masters in the Science of Education, Bonnie was more than prepared to meet the challenge of starting her own school. She spent 2 years teaching classes out of her cake studio to develop a comprehensive curriculum that is now the standard for all classes taught at the school. In 2008, she opened the Bonnie Gordon School of Cake Design. Her commitment served her well when her vision of creating a college devoted to the confectionary arts came to fruition in the fall of 2010. Today, the Bonnie Gordon College of Confectionary Arts is a leader in the field of cake design and confectionary art education. Many well-known cake artist superstars launched their careers under Bonnie's tutelage. She helped them focus their creative energy and nurtured their talent while always encouraging them to follow their dreams.
