ECFH & Saint Lucia Jazz

ECFH led by its largest subsidiary Bank of Saint Lucia is entering its 17th year of sponsorship of Saint Lucia Jazz. The festival, now in its 21st year, represents a coming of age for both the organizers and sponsors. Bank of Saint Lucia's commitment to the festival has grown over the years, demonstrated by its increased levels of sponsorship.

This year is no different as another ECFH Subsidiary has responded to the call and maintained its sponsorship of Jazz. EC Global Insurance has donated EC$10,000.00 to support Waterside Jazz and Jazz in the South.

Soufriere Creole Jazz
Soufriere Creole JazzAfter a one-year hiatus due to the passage of hurricane Tomas, Soufriere Creole Jazz is back and promises to be better than ever. Although limited to one venue on the Soufriere waterfront, the organizers, the Soufriere Regional Development Foundation, have promised a lineup of the very best in local entertainment. The Soufriere Regional Development Foundations has commended Bank of Saint Lucia for its continued support to Soufriere Creole Jazz having come in as Gold Sponsors to the tune of EC$15,000. This year Soufriere Creole Jazz takes place on Saturday 5th May 2012.

Waterside Jazz
Waterside JazzEC Global Insurance has matched its donation to Jazz in the South with a similar donation of EC$5,000 to Waterside Jazz. Waterside Jazz has replaced Jazz on the Pier and Jazz on the Square and will take place at Pointe Seraphine Duty Free Shopping Complex. Waterside Jazz will be held on three days, Monday 7th, Wednesday 9th and Friday 11th May 2012.

ECFH's support of St. Lucia Jazz is a clear demonstration of the Group's commitment to its mission - "to be a catalyst for development". The sponsorship focus on fringe events such as Jazz in the South, Soufriere Creole Jazz and Waterside Jazz ensures that communities reap a number of benefits including increased economic activity and exposure to the musical styling's of a number of local and international artists. Over the years ECFH  has committed over EC $1 million dollars to Saint Lucia Jazz and our sponsorship has ensured that a significant amount of these funds have gone towards sustaining cottage industries in communities such as Soufriere and Laborie.

Bank of Saint Lucia Tees off with Cricket Legend

Bank of Saint Lucia Tees off with Cricket Legend

In a remarkable partnership not seen since the likes of Gordon Greenidge and Desmond Haynes, Bank of Saint Lucia teamed up with former West Indies captain and undoubtedly the greatest batsman of all time Brian Charles Lara. The purpose of this partnership was to take part in this year's Sir Vivian Richards Charity Golf Tournament, held at the Saint Lucia Golf & Country Club in Cap Estate.

The tournament teams up local golfing talent with famed West Indies cricketers to raise funds for a charitable cause. The tournament, which coincided with the Saint Lucia leg of the West Indies vs. Australia test series, was well attended with a number of participating cricketing luminaries like Richie Richardson, Deryck Murray, Ian Bishop and host, the man himself Sir Vivian Richards.

The funds raised from the event will be used to assist with the development of youth golf and grassroots cricket in Saint Lucia. This focus is in sync with Bank of Saint Lucia's corporate social responsibility policy, which promotes youth development through sports. Bank of Saint Lucia would therefore like to applaud the organizers and Sir Viv for planning and executing a first-class tournament and thank Brian Lara for being part of the Bank of Saint Lucia team.
