Bank of Saint Lucia Moves to Soufriere Waterfront

Soufriere Waterfront BranchThe Soufriere branch of Bank of Saint Lucia has moved to the picturesque waterfront of the town with the pitons rising majestically in the foreground. The new branch boasts a façade reminiscent of the town's heritage while inside customers enjoy all the benefits of a twenty first century bank.


At the brief opening ceremony Senior Manager-Retail Banking of Bank of Saint Lucia, Mr. Bradley Felix indicated that customer comfort and the ease of transacting business were the major priorities for the Bank, which prompted the move to the present location. Branch manager- Mrs. Arleta Rati-Mitchel echoed similar sentiments and added that the move was a strategic one as the area has been earmarked for future development. 


Bank of Saint Lucia has operated for over twenty-five years and continues to be a pillar in Soufriere thought its support of community based initiatives and fundraising activities, and the provision of financial resources and expertise for developmental projects. The relocation of the branch is a clear demonstration of the bank's commitment to the Soufriere community and its environs.

Bank of Saint Lucia & Labowi Promotions Team Up for Jazz in the South

Jazz in the SouthBank of Saint Lucia has once again teamed up with Labowi Promotions to present yet another spectacular Jazz in the South production. In its 16th year, Labowi Promotions continues to thrill its patrons, and this year is no exception, with a fusion of artistes from Africa, the UK, the United States, the Caribbean and France. This year's events will take place on the grounds of the Coconut Bay Resort in Vieux Fort as will as the perennial venue, the Rudy John Beach Park in the fishing village of Laborie.  

 

Maria Fowell, Senior Manager - Marketing and Corporate Communications, officially presented the sponsorship cheque in the amount of EC$30,000 to Labowi Promotions at a brief ceremony at the Coconut Bay Beach Resort and Spa.  Mrs. Fowell spoke of Bank of Saint Lucia's commitment to supporting the staging of this high quality event and the positive spin-offs that this event was having on the surrounding communities.   

 

Jazz in the South is slated for May 1st to May 6th and will be held on the grounds of Coconut Bay in Vieux Fort, and the Rudy John Beach Park in Laborie.  A full events listing for Jazz in the South is available online at www.jazzinthesouth.com.

ECFH Committed to Development of Sports

ECFH has once again remained steadfast in its commitment to the development of sports and youth empowerment, vital aspects of its corporate social responsibility mandate. Over the years  a number of sporting associations and federations have benefited from this mandate. The Saint Lucia Amateur Volleyball Association and the Saint Lucia Basketball Federation were recent recipients of bursaries from the Group.
 

The donation to the Amateur Volleyball Association was used to support the Guy Brown Memorial Tournament as well as the recently held Eastern Caribbean Volleyball Association (ECVA) Youth Female Volleyball Championships at the Beausejour Indoor Facility. ECFH extended kudos to the participating teams, the coaching staff and management for a well-played tournament, which was a bold, positive statement for regional sports.  Additionally, the Group took the opportunity to congratulate the Saint Lucian team on its third place showing, in this keenly contested tournament.
 

Bank of Saint Lucia, ECFH's largest subsidiary has been a major sponsor of basketball for the last several years. This year was no exception with the bank providing major assistance to the federation by sponsoring its 2012 National Men's basketball Tournament. The cheque presentation took place at the Ministry of Youth & Sports Conference Room. The tournament runs through to June 2012 at a number of locations throughout St. Lucia including the Vigie Sports Complex, Beausejour Indoor Facility and facilities in Vieux Fort, Gros Islet and Dennery.
