EC Global Brings Convenience to the North

EC Global Insurance, an East Caribbean Financial Holding (ECFH) subsidiary, has extended its services to the northern hub of Rodney Bay where it has opened its brand new Convenience Centre. Located at the Providence Commercial Centre, the EC Global Insurance Convenience Centre offers customers products and services that are also available at its head office in Castries. The official opening took place on Friday, January 28th with scores of customers, staff and specially invited guests in attendance.

Speaking at the opening, EC Global's CEO, Mr. Leathon Khan shared the rationale for opening the new facility when he said that, "We have analyzed the geographical dispersion of our customer base and recognized that as our customer base expands, as it has in the North, that we have to respond to these developments and position ourselves where our customers and business associates can easily and conveniently reach us". Mr. Khan added that there are plans to offer extended opening hours to give customers even more convenience to conduct their insurance business.

Also addressing the opening was Chairperson of EC Global, Ms Emma Hippolyte, who pointed out that EC Global's Convenience Centre was also part of its parent company's northern expansion. ECFH is constructing a corporate building in Gros Islet and in 2009, its largest subsidiary, Bank of Saint Lucia, opened its business centre also located at Providence Commercial Centre in Rodney Bay. These developments, she said, showed the Group's commitment to the socio-economic progress of the island.

The EC Global Insurance Convenience Centre offers a range of services including insurance renewals, claim submissions and premium financing; and its opening hours are Monday to Friday from 8:00 am to 4:30pm.

ECFH Restores Canaries Infant

ECFH Restores Canaries Infant

Approximately three months after Hurricane Tomas, the Canaries Infant School is just beginning to see the light at the end of tunnel. Severely damaged by Tomas, the school was uninhabitable and staff and students had to be relocated to Canaries Primary to get on with the business of learning in less than ideal conditions. But now they are close to returning to their own school thanks to the work and contribution of ECFH.

The company decided to forego its annual staff Christmas dinner and donate the allocated funds towards the school's restoration effort. The Group contributed to this effort in two phases: the first phase involved ECFH staff members donating their time and energy to carry out a clean-up exercise at the school under the umbrella of Greedy for Green, the Group's environmental programme; in the second phase, through its subsidiary, ProDev, the company hired a professional contractor, Mr. Judah Mater, to undertake the major structural repairs that were needed. Mr. Mater also generously volunteered his expertise as well as his human and material resources to carry out additional works on the school which both ECFH and the school's principal appreciated.

There are plans to reopen the school in mid-February and this is achievable given ECFH's considerable assistance with the restoration effort. The Group is committed to giving back to the students and staff of Canaries Infant school an environment that is conducive to learning.
