Happy New Year,
Although 2010 has just begun, Seaside High-Speed is already hard at work completing our high-speed network across northeastern Nova Scotia.
In the last weeks of December, Seaside completed the installation of radio equipment and power to six structures, creating internet access for 350 rural Nova Scotians. In the week between Christmas and New Years, we brought three additional tower sites into operation, providing high-speed access to another 400 people in 24 communities.
Over the next two weeks Seaside will finalize a list of communties still without internet service. This list will allow us to be as precise as possible when communicating with you about progress in your area. We will send out a newsletter every two weeks to keep you informed of the progress of the network build.
Much of the work on each site is complete before construction begins. We must secure new leases for land use, and then place these sites into a permitting process, which at times can take up to six weeks. Once construction has been initiated, we will need to install radio equipment and power and ensure that the alignment of the equipment is complete. We will then inform you when high speed is available.
We appreciate your patience as we continue our work for you.
