September 22, 2012
This week was full of celebration, with our 7th and 8th graders receiving honors for academic achievements during the 2011-2012 school year. We had the largest turn-out yet for Bring Your Parent to School Days, and we are looking forward to seeing our 6th grade parents on Tuesday of this week.
Things to Celebrate:
- We've posted several articles and celebrations on the EPMS website. Have you visited it lately?
- Our first group of Reading with Titans began this week, with nearly 20 students receiving one-on-one coaching for their reading skills. Thank you so much to our community members for stepping up and getting involved. We begin our second cohort in October, with a meeting/training this Thursday (September 27) at 8:00am. Interested? Come on in.
Things to Know:
- Please remember that your child's first progress report came home this week. Take the time to review it with them, discuss their progress, and contact teachers as needed. Don't forget to come pick up your Home Access Center password if you have not already done so.
- If you are part of the carpool line in the afternoon, please be sure to pull up to the car in front of you. Several parents have pointed out that the line on Elkins Road would not be as long if people would simply pull up closer to the next car. Thank you.
- Don't forget to get your child to submit a Reflections Entry! The deadline for submissions is October 5th.
- Are you a father who is looking for more ways to get involved? Do you know about Dad's Club? If you are interested, email me for details.
Enjoy (the rest) of your weekend, everyone!
