Hello, Titans!
This week has been a busy one, with many clubs kicking off and our soccer team shutting out Ridgeview Middle School with a score of 5-0. On Wednesday, we had a fun afternoon of "pie in the face" with students and staff, as a way of celebrating our fundraising efforts for the Rally Foundation. To date, our students and families have raised $2,000 with the EPMS team raising a total of $8,000 so far. Way to go, Titans!
Things to Celebrate:
- A big thank you to Crabapple Tutoring. Several students received scholarships to work with Crabapple Tutoring, and we are so thankful for their support!
- Next week we'll be celebrating our 7th and 8th graders who received Honor Roll second semester of the 2011-2012 school year. Invitations came home with the students this week. If your child did not receive an invitation and you believe they had all As and Bs in a Fulton County school last year, be sure to contact the front office and/or your child's advisement teacher. The breakfasts begin at 7:30am. We look forward to seeing you there!
- Our 6th Graders will have their dance very soon! Save the date for the 6th Grade dance, "Night at the Pointe." When: October 11th from 4:15-6:00
Things to Know:
- Please remember that many students will begin a new advisement class on Monday. Our specialized advisements are beginning, and even if your child is not in a specialized advisement, their teacher may be running one. Your children should have received notification today or before.
- Don't forget about Bring Your Parent to School Days as well! 8th grade parents are invited on Tuesday the 18th, 7th grade on Thursday the 20th, and 6th grade on Tuesday 25th. Parents will check in at the Media Center, where they will receive their child's schedule, and we'll talk briefly about the day. Remember that even if you can't stay the entire day, we'd still love to have you for the morning. Please remember to arrange for child care, as having the little ones in the classroom can be a big (albeit very cute) distraction to learning.
- Please remember that all affidavits must be completed, notarized, and submitted to the office. Though these were due the first day of school, we still have several families missing their documentation.
- If your child received free/reduced lunch last year, please remember that you must renew these every year. They are about to expire, and they take 10 days to process. I urgently remind you to get your forms submitted as soon as possible so that your students are able to enjoy their daily lunch.
- Japan Fest: Please come and enjoy the annual JapanFest this weekend on Saturday, 9/15 (10 a.m. to 6 p.m.) and Sunday, 09/16 (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.) at the Gwinnett Convention Center! There will be lots of cultural performances, exhibitions, shops, children's games, activities, food, etc., so please bring your whole family! Tickets are $8.00, and children 6 and under are free. For more information, please visit http://www.japanfest.org.
We look forward to seeing everyone next week and the week after. Bring Your Parent to School Days are GREAT opportunities to come in and see what we are all about: Empowering Students for Tomorrow's Global Society.
Have a lovely weekend, everyone.
