Hello, Titans!
Another lovely, albeit short, week here at EPMS. Our Soccer Team is ready for their first game next Wednesday, and our Volleyball and Ultimate Frisbee teams are getting started as well. We had great turn-outs for several club start-ups this week, and we are looking forward to getting specialized advisements in place by the end of next week. Walking through the classrooms this week shows us that our Titans are engaged, plugged-in, and excited about learning. A great four days.
Things to Celebrate:
- We are so proud of our ten teachers who are attempting to raise $10,000 for Childhood Cancer Research, in honor of one of our 8th grade students who is fighting Leukemia. To date they have raised nearly $6000. They are also running the Atlanta 13.1 Half Marathon as a team in his honor. They are trying to reach this goal by September 25th. If you would like to donate, please make checks payable to "The Rally Foundation" and drop them off in the front office. If you have a company who would like to donate or have additional questions, please contact Nick Cassidy at cassidyn@fultonschools.org.
- Congratulations to our very own Joshua Bell, an 8th grader who won the GA Games 119 lbs Novice Boxing Championship on July 14th and 15th by winning two boxing matches.
- We are so proud of Maddi Haney, 6th grader, who competed in the 2012 Atlanta Kids Triathlon on Sunday, August 26th. She placed 6th out of 38, and achieved her goal of being in the Top 10! She will soon compete in the 2012 IronKids Triathlon on September 16th and face a more challenging course of 250 meter swim, 8 mile bike, and four mile run. We know she will succeed again! Way to go, Maddi!
- Congratulations go to Jennifer Okiyama, our 7th grade Language Arts teacher. She received our first Leadership Essentials Award, a recognition from Fulton County Schools. Ms. Okiyama is a natural leader, who builds capacity, leads by example, embraces change, and creates value for our community every day. We are so lucky to have her!
Things to Know:
- "The Magic of a Moment" Reflections Competition is under way. Students will receive more information about this through their Language Arts Classes, but if you are hungry for information right now, click here to learn more.
- Please reserve Friday, March 29th for our annual BATTLE OF THE TITANS. This tradition will be bigger and better this year, with all three grade levels having the entire day to engage in fellowship and fun.
- Do you have an 8th Grader? Interested in details about the 8th grade trip? Click here to learn more.
- Remember elementary school, when there were room mothers and fathers? We would like to have Team Parents this year. Click here to learn more.

Have a great weekend, Titans!
