Hello, Titan Community!
During this second week of school, the students have continued to thrive and enjoy their days. They are learning their way around and seeking help when they need it. Several students have brought forward ideas for clubs and activities, and we are so excited to begin sign-ups for those activities next week. I'm pleased as can be when I see our students helping one another: picking up the books of someone who has dropped them, helping someone find their way to class, and asking how they can help students in need. They inspire me every day.
Things to Celebrate:
- We are very proud of our very own Susan Grigsby, Media Specialist Extraordinaire. The president of the American Association of School Librarians appointed Ms. Grigsby to the National Legislation Committee. We are so proud of her!
- Ms. Williams invited Lakia Brandenburge, author and CEO of Imperfectly Perfect Publishing Company, into her Character Education Course to talk to students this week. We have high hopes for this new course and all that it will offer the students of EPMS.
- We are proud of our teachers who are fighting against childhood cancer by walking for the Rally Foundation. How can you help?
- Thank you to our business partner Crabapple Tutoring for the generous donation of student scholarships as well as the helpful tips for parent communication at http://www.crabappletutoring.com/materials.html. Attached please also find a flyer to highlight their offerings this year.
- Remember, if you would like your student highlighted in Titan Talk, send me your celebrations so that we can let them know we are proud of them!
Things to Know:
Lastly, we hope to see all of you at Curriculum Night on August 30th. We will have a showcase of musical talent and technology demonstrations from 6:10 - 6:30 in the front atrium and gymnasium. The meeting will begin promptly at 6:30pm in the gym, where we will discuss the state of the school as well as our plans for utilizing Title I funds for the 2012-13 school year. Read more
