Hello, Titan Community!
What a lovely first week we have had here at EPMS. The students have quickly settled into their pattern of getting to class on time, opening their lockers with success, and enjoying their activities and lessons. The teachers are enjoying their new students, the building looks fantastic, and everyone is excited for a wonderful year!
We are trying a new template for Titan Talk. We hope that it will help expedite information for parents.
Things to Celebrate:
- Talent Identification Program with Duke University - We are proud of our students who participated in the Talent Identification Program with Duke University this summer. Several students participated and did quite well.
- 2012 Junior Olympics Track and Field Championships - Nathan Wonsley and Davis Smith both blew the competition away at the 2012 Junior Olympics Track and Field Championships in Houston, TX this summer. Nathan maintained his #1 National ranking and won the Gold Medal with a throw of 45' 8" throw in the 1.K Discus and 6lbs. Shotput. His personal record is 46ft 6in. He also finished 9th overall in the nation in discus and is currently ranked #1 in the State of Georgia with a personal record of 101 ft 3inches. Davis Smith came in 8th place in the Pentathlon Track & Field event. He won a medal and got to participate in an awards ceremony. Way to go, Titans!
- Remember, if you would like your student highlighted in Titan Talk, send me your celebrations so that we can let them know we are proud of them!
