Dear IWSA Family and Friends,
This July marks the 10th year since the first WAGR weekend was held in Manassas, Virginia in 2000. That summer eight WAGR families met for the first time. It was an amazing weekend enjoyed by all. Through the years we have tried to continue the tradition of WAGR Weekend. We have had families attend WAGR Weekend from all across the United States, also from England, Ireland, Australia, Poland, and Canada. This year WAGR Weekend will be held in Gaithersburg, Maryland. We hope to have a tremendous turnout to commemorate our ten year celebration. Please mark your calendar today and join us this summer in Maryland.
For those families in need of financial assistance, you need not worry. Please submit a written request to Tammie Hefty. The IWSA has helped families attend WAGR Weekend by picking up their hotel costs, providing gas cards for travel and helping offset transportation fees. Preference is always given to families that have never attended WAGR Weekend. Requests should be submitted by March 30, 2010. Individual requests will be collected and reviewed by the IWSA board and scholarship monies will be awarded by May 1, 2010.
Please help us continue our mission by making a tax deductible donation today. The IWSA has a small operating budget so all donations, regardless of size, help us continue to provide our services and programs to WAGR families.
This year, the IWSA lost funding for one third of its total operating budget. The IWSA is no longer receiving funds from the Bernice Barnes Trust or the March of Dimes Community Grant. So it is even more critical for our families to get involved. You can help by spreading our mission to your friends and families via word of mouth or through social networking sites like Facebook, My Space and Twitter. With your help we can keep the spirit of the IWSA alive for many years to come.
The IWSA has come along way in just ten short years. We are anxious to see what the future holds for our children and their families.
Thank you for your continued support. Best wishes to you for a healthy and happy new year.
Sincerely,
Annie Prusakiewicz
