Rasamaya blends the eight limbs of yoga with the flavors of the nine major rasas (emotions) experienced through the chakra system. Come fly with us! Aerial skills covered by the course will include: basic footlocks, climbing, and fun asanas sequences. Unique to the Rasamaya Program is our multi-apparatus teaching model and our philosophy system. Pilates apparatuses are designed to offer clients a multi-dimensional approach to movement, and our program uniquely groups exercises in a similar model. Rather than learning one piece of apparatus at a time, students will learn variations of exercises on several apparatuses at the same time. At Rasamaya, we group exercises based on common movement principles, which diversify the teachers' experience and increase their understanding of how one single exercise can be performed on a multitude of apparatus. This method of teaching offers the instructor a wide range of exercises to draw from for teaching and a deeper knowledge of the basic concepts of Pilates.
Because movement is a vehicle towards exposing the emotional body, Rasa Theory will also be covered. This philosophy system offers students an opportunity to discuss and explore the nine major rasas (emotions) as related to our individual journeys, as well as those of clients. Appropriate touch, physical/verbal languaging, and body ethics will also be discussed.
Courses are offered in a convenient module format that allows you to continue your training at your own pace. Observation, practice teaching, as well as private and group classes are a requirement for graduation. Students can begin teaching at an apprentice rate as soon as their first weekend of Apparatus is completed.
There is limited space in these modules. Modules can be taken in any order, but beginner level must be completed before progressing to intermediate or advanced. To register, visit www.rasamaya.com/training
