On November 22nd, the Congressional Quarterly Press Annual City Crime Rankings were announced, with the Town of Ramapo listed as the Third Safest Place to Live in America. 

 

This is the third time in the last three years that Ramapo has been listed as one of the top five Safest Places to Live in America:


                                          · 2008-09: Ranked #1
                                          · 2009-10: Ranked #5
                                          · 2010-11: Ranked #3


The CQ rankings are based on FBI crime statistics.


Of all of the "Quality of Life" indicators, public safety is by far the most important.  Our ability to maintain the most secure environment in America is testament to the effectiveness of our Police Department, the level of self-respect that our residents have for each other, and the Town Board's steadfast commitment to invest in public safety.

 

Congratulations to our residents and our law-enforcement officers.

Reminder: Join us for Thanksgiving Bingo
 
Our tenth annual Town of Ramapo LIVE TV Bingo Night will take place on Thursday, November 25th from 8:00 PM - 10:30 PM. Players can participate from the comfort of their own homes, while watching our live broadcast on Cablevision channels 75/77/78, FIOS channel 32, or streaming at www.ramapo.org on the Town's website.

You only need to get an official Ramapo Bingo card to join in the fun free of charge. Bingo cards are available in my office at Town Hall and on-line at www.ramapo.org (printable Bingo cards). Senior citizen groups should call Phil Tisi at 357-5100 ext. 201, if they would like to reserve packets of cards. We will be playing approximately twenty-five (25) games on Thanksgiving night.  As in past years, a number of great prizes for children and adults will be awarded to our call-in game winners.
