From the Desk of the Director...
| Meghan Urbon, Executive Director |
Happy March! This is one of my favorite times of the year! Spring is on the horizon, more daylight is on it's way and a sense of renewal is constantly taking place. We have had many new members join us this month (see below). I'd encourage you to reach out them and welcome them into our chamber.
This month, we have our New Member Appreciation Breakfast. This is open to all chamber members, but we will specifically be recognizing members who joined the chamber in 2010. What a great networking opportunity and way to meet some new faces!
Our committees are well under way, and they defintely have open slots. It's a FREE way to get your name and business out in the community by showcasing your hard work and creativity in staple chamber events.
Finally, our regular membership drive ends March 31st. If you have not sent in your dues, please do so immediately. The Portage County Chamber Directory comes out soon, and only paid members, by March 31st, will be included. Trust me, these directories are in high demand and are always requested by people! Enjoy your March and may the Luck o' the Irish be with ya!

A Message from Farmers Insurance Agent Shelly Clairmont
My name is Shelly, and I am an agent with Farner's Insurance. I became an insurance agent after a very close friend of mine passed away without life insurance, and I decided to make it my mission to never let another family suffer through that pain. The goal of my agency is to help all of my clients understand their insurance, what it does and how all the different types of insurance they own work together to protect their lives and grow their assets. I specialize in Life, Commercial, Auto, Home & Specialty Insurance and look forward to bettering the lives of the people in our community. Farmers has been helping families for more than 80 years, and I am proud to be a part of the Farmer's family. When I am not being Shelly the agent, I am a mom. My five year old son will be starting kindergarten this year, and I look forward to his football, t-ball and soccer games, and I never miss one. I love this community, and I am very excited to be a part of it. For more information, visit my website at www.farmersinsurance.com/mclairmont. |

Congratulations to Anna Maria of Aurora for Receiving High Marks on State Satisfaction Survey
Anna Maria of Aurora recently received a score of 91 out of 100 on the Ohio Department of Aging nursing facility satisfaction survey, which substantially exceeds the state average of 85.9.
"We are extremely proud of the hard work and dedication of our staff-they make all the difference in resident satisfaction," said Aaron Baker, administrator. "It's the staff commitment to our mission of 'every family, every resident, every day,' that has allowed Anna Maria to continue to grow and provide essential care and services."
According to its web site, the Ohio Department of Aging conducts the resident satisfaction survey for various reasons including to increase long-term care facility awareness of resident perspectives of theirservices; to provide long-term care facilities with information on which to base quality improvement activities; and to provide resident satisfaction information on the Long-term Care Consumer Guide (www.ltcohio.org), an online public report that helps people who are looking for a long-term care facility make informed choices about long-term care for themselves or their loved one(s).
Kensington Care Center, another nursing facility on Campus, also scored above the state average on the survey. The Campus of Anna Maria is a family owned and operated senior living community providing a full continuum of care including a unique short-term rehabilitation unit designed for active seniors, apartment-style assisted and independent living, home care services, skilled nursing, adult day services and a distinct residence for memory care. For more information, call Diane Barben, Director of Marketing, at (330) 562-6171, or visit www.annamariaofaurora.com.
